It’s the club’s 30th year at White Post Road
A major project to renovate the pavilion at Banbury Cricket Club has been completed after years of planning and fundraising.
The work at the club’s White Post Road ground began in November 2025, costing around £110,000.
The redevelopment included extending the pavilion balcony to run the full length of the building, installing new full-length doors and windows, and creating a new first-floor scorebox.
Club officials said the improvements modernise the pavilion while maintaining its role as a focal point for the local community during the club’s 30th year at White Post Road.
The project was funded with significant contributions from Oxfordshire Cricket Board, Banbury Charities, Cherwell District Council, Glebe Recreational Trust, Willows Banbury and JDE Unite Union Fund. Donations were also received from members, supporters and the wider community, with a crowdfunding campaign raising around £5,000 from nearly 60 backers.
Reformed in 1949, Banbury Cricket Club is one of Oxfordshire’s leading clubs, running teams for various age groups and abilities along with four Saturday sides.
