Enhanced support for Brackley businesses in second round of grants

Exterior improvements can now receive up to 80 percent funding

A second round of grants has opened to help independent businesses improve their premises and grow in Brackley town centre.

The scheme, run by West Northamptonshire Council in partnership with Brackley Town Council, is offering grants of up to £10,000 for projects including shopfront improvements, refurbishments, accessibility upgrades and new products or services.

Changes to the scheme since the first round earlier this year mean businesses can now receive up to 80 percent funding for exterior improvements.  Interior improvement funding is still available on a 50 / 50 matched funding basis.

For the first time the scheme is now open to new businesses looking to establish themselves in Brackley town centre and pre-application planning permission advice is being waived for grant-funded projects.

Cash for the grants will come from the Brackley Town Fund with the aim of boosting footfall, strengthening the local economy and enhancing the town centre.

Kathy Hale Town Clerk of Brackley Town Council said: “We hope this funding will help business owners make improvements that may previously have been out of reach, whether that’s refreshing shopfronts, improving premises or developing new products and services.

“With operating costs remaining high, this scheme offers a valuable opportunity for businesses to invest in their future while making our town centre even more attractive for residents and visitors alike.”

Businesses interested in applying should email [email protected] to register their expression of interest and receive an application pack.
