Firework display cancelled due to Storm Ciaran

Our area looks set to avoid the worst of the weather

Storm Ciaran is currently crossing the UK and whilst our area is avoiding the worst of the strong winds, we are still set for some powerful gusts and heavy rain over the next few hours.

Wind speeds of up 43 miles per hour are expected around tea time.

The weather has put paid to our area’s first scheduled firework display of the season.   Plans for an event at Harriers Banbury Academy this evening were pulled earlier today due to the storm.

The school says they are trying to reorganise another date and anyone with tickets will be able to use them for that.   Full refunds will be offered to those who cannot make the new date.
