All the reindeer have been decorated by local children

In the run up to Christmas a festive Reindeer Trail has been set up around Banbury town centre.   Youngsters have been challenged to find the names of ten reindeer which have been placed in shop windows.

There’s an iPad on offer for one lucky winner.

Nine of the reindeer were decorated by primary school children from St John’s, Hardwick, Harriers, Christopher Rawlins in Adderbury, Longford Park, St Joseph’s, Bishop Loveday and Hill View schools.   Youngsters in the children’s ward at the Horton General Hospital took care of the tenth.

Trail sheets are available from Banbury Museum, the Information Point at the Castle Quay and all the businesses taking part.   It takes around 45 minutes to complete.

Entries must be submitted by December 31, after which a winner will be selected.

The reindeer trail has been organised by Banbury BID.   Kelly Black, Office Manager, said: “The reindeer trail has been created as a fun and festive way to engage the community, particularly children, during the winter season.

“It encourages people to visit different businesses where the reindeer are displayed, thereby promoting local shopping. It also provides an opportunity for children to showcase their creativity and contribute to the holiday decorations in their community.”
