Frank Wise pupils have two new minibuses thanks to their Friends
12/03/2025

The minibuses will help the pupils be active participants in the community
Pupils at Banbury’s Frank Wise school will now be able to travel to activities and on school trips in two brand new adapted minibuses. The vehicles have been provided by the Friends of Frank Wise School, with support from the wider Banbury community.
The minibuses will replace some of the school’s existing older vehicles.
The Frank Wise school educates 120 children with severe or profound and multiple learning disabilities. Then school places a high value on ensuring pupils are both visible to and valued by their communities. The minibuses will help with this, enabling access to local facilities and partnership working with other local mainstream schools, alongside school trips and visits.
Joint Headteacher, Simon Knight, said: “Being a community special school, working hard to ensure that our pupils are active participants in the communities in which they live is a core mission of ours, and these buses will help us to ensure that we can work towards that aim for years to come.
“We are extremely grateful to the Friends of Frank Wise School and the wider community of Banbury for all of their support and generosity.”
Chair of the Friends of Frank Wise School, Douglas Seymour MBE, added: “The Friends are an amazing team, many of whom are members of staff at the school. We raise some of the funds but the efforts to raise funds by parents, relatives, staff, the Banbury area and wider community is incredible, so on behalf of the Friends may I send our thanks to you all in this achievement.”
Work is ongoing to raise funds to replace a third older minibus.
