Local government reorganisation decision likely this week

We will hear which one of the three suggested options is being taken forward
Banbury FM understands that a decision on local government reorganisation in Oxfordshire will be announced this week.
Three options were suggested for replacing the current model, with both Cherwell District and Oxfordshire County Councils providing services here at the moment
The County Council want to continue, taking complete charge of local government services, with our area part of a single authority covering the whole county.
Cherwell think we should be part of an area which also includes Oxford and Witney.
A third approach, proposed by Oxford City Council, would see us as part of a north Oxfordshire council, including Witney, but excluding the greater Oxford area.
The final decision will be made by the government with the announcement from the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government expected imminently.
