Witness appeal launched after fatal accident on Adderbury to Deddington main road
A witness appeal has been launched by Thames Valley Police following a fatal road traffic collision on the A4260 Oxford Road, between Adderbury and Deddington on Friday (21st February).
The road remained closed for a number of hours after the incident which saw a Parcel Force articulated lorry collide with a man in his thirties, who was walking along the road. The collision happened at around 4.05am.
Thames Valley Police say emergency first aid was administered, but the man was declared dead at the scene. His next of kin have been traced and are being supported by a family liaison officer.
The lorry driver was uninjured and no arrests have been made.
Investigation officer, PC Julia Stroud of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, based at Bicester, said: “We are carrying out an investigation into this incident in which a man has sadly died. We are asking anyone who saw the collision or was travelling on the A4260 at around 4am on Friday morning to please come forward.
“Additionally we would ask anyone who was driving on the road at that time and has a dash cam to please check for any footage that may be relevant to our investigation.”
