Man sought after cash and cigarettes stolen from Banbury store

Its believed the man in the image may be able to help police with their enquiries

Money and packets of cigarettes were stolen from the Morrisons Daily store on South Bar in Banbury during a robbery last Saturday (April 19).

At around 9am a man entered the shop and placed a rucksack on the counter.   He told a member of staff to fill it up with cash.

The victim did not sustain any injuries during the incident.

Thames Valley Police has released a CCTV image of a man officers now want to speak to.

Investigating officer PC Sophie Smith said: “I am appealing to anyone who recognises the man in this image as he may have vital information to assist us with our investigation.

“I am also appealing to anyone who witnessed this incident or has information that may assist us to please get in touch.

“Anyone with digital evidence, can upload it to our dedicated online portal.

“Anyone with information should call 101 or make an online report, via our website, quoting crime reference number 43250190657.”
