Man sustains fatal head injuries during early Saturday collision

The blue Subaru Impreza crashed at around 1.35am

A man lost his life after his car hit a roundabout and overturned in Banbury during the early hours of Saturday morning.

The man, who’s 33, had been heading up Orchard Way towards the Warwick Road.   His vehicle failed to negotiate the roundabout and collided with the central island.   It then overturned before landing back on its wheels on the opposite side of the roundabout, by the Parklands Road junction.

The driver sustained a severe head injury and died at the scene.

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses to the collision, which happened at approximately 1.35am.   The man had been driving a blue Subaru Impreza.

His next of kin have been informed.

Investigating officer PC Ruan Brink of the Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit said: “I am appealing to anybody who was driving in the area at around the time of the collision to please get in touch with Thames Valley Police if you witnessed what happened.

“I would also ask drivers to check dash-cams and contact us if it has captured anything that may assist this investigation.
