Councillor Walker says she is extremely honoured to accept this important role

Councillor Dorothy Walker has been elected as the new Chair of Cherwell District Council.  She is the Liberal Democrat representative for Kidlington West and was first elected in 2021.

Councillor Walker takes over the role from Dr Chukwudi Okeke, who has been Chairman for the last year.

Upon her appointment Councillor Walker said: “I’m extremely honoured to accept this important role representing the Council and our residents.

“It’s a great privilege to take on the Chair’s task of maintaining and building our relationships with all kinds of civic, voluntary and charity bodies in Cherwell and Oxfordshire, who do such important and valuable work in our communities.”

During her year representing the district Councillor Walker plans to raise money for two charities: Homelessness Oxfordshire and Asylum Welcome.
