Police in Banbury are working to identify the culprit behind graffiti which has appeared in the town centre.

On Tuesday morning reports appeared on social media of damage having been caused to the statue of the Fine Lady on a White Horse on South Bar.   By 9am the graffiti had been removed, although there was still evidence of red paint on the twenty-year-old bronze tourist attraction.

A spokesperson for Banbury Neighbourhood Policing Team said they were aware of several reports of graffiti and their enquiries to identify those who may be causing the damage were ongoing.
