Power cut affects properties in Banbury, Adderbury and Kings Sutton

It’s hoped all supplies will be restored by 4.30pm
2,168 homes and businesses in our area were hit by a power cut this morning. 86 currently remain without any supply.
Electricity was lost at around 10.40am with National Grid noting the problem being down to a fault on their high voltage network.
Properties in Banbury, Adderbury and Kings Sutton were affected.
Supplies were restored to 1,574 homes and businesses within three minutes, with rerouting of power restoring supplies to all but 86 properties by 1pm.
A National Grid Electricity Distribution spokesperson told Banbury FM: “We are aware of a fault on our high voltage network affecting electricity supplies in Banbury, King’s Sutton and Adderbury this morning.
“The vast majority of properties have been restored, with 86 customers still off supply. We estimate that supplies will be restored to all customers by 4.30pm this afternoon, and would like to thank them for their patience and understanding as we work to reconnect them.”
Subsequently the estimated restoration time for the remaining properties has been revised to 11pm.
