As the incident happened at a busy time police are hoping witnesses will have information

Two people in Brackley were scammed out of money by individuals claiming they were owed cash for work completed, after they said they worked for a legitimate gardening business.

After being paid the alleged outstanding balances, the offenders left both addresses without undertaking any work.

It happened between 3pm and 6pm last Tuesday (June 23).   Police believe the area would have been busy at the time and are hoping to hear from people who saw anyone acting suspiciously in or around Waynflete Avenue.

The offenders were in a silver/grey hatchback car with a yellow tonne bag in the rear.

The first of them is described as a white man aged between 35-45, about 6ft and of a slim build with dark untidy hair. He was wearing a black t-shirt and black trousers.

The second offender was a white man in his early 40s, between 5ft 4in to 5ft 5in and of a chubby build. He was wearing a red t-shirt and black trousers.

In addition to any witnesses, police are hoping to gather footage from CCTV, doorbell, or dash-cams which may have captured the two men.  They would also like to hear from anyone else who faced a similar situation.

Northamptonshire Police can be contacted on 101 or via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, quoting incident number 26000368257.
