Tudor Hall School to join Mill Hill Education Group

The school will retain its own leadership and character
Tudor Hall School is to join the Mill Hill Education Group in a move designed to secure the school’s long-term future.
Governors of the all-girls boarding and day school on Wykham Lane have agreed to the school becoming part of the charitable group, with the merger expected to be completed in autumn 2026, subject to final legal and regulatory approval.
School leaders stressed that Tudor Hall will retain its identity, values and educational philosophy, describing the move as a charitable partnership rather than a commercial sale.
Headmistress Julie Lodrick said: “This charitable merger represents a proactive step taken from a strong position to secure our long-term vision and ambition for the future. We are delighted Tudor is joining a well-established, respected educational charity, whose values and ethos closely align with our own.”
Mill Hill Education Group already supports a number of schools across the UK, with each retaining its own leadership and character while benefiting from the resources and stability of the wider organisation.
Tudor Hall, which was founded 175 years ago, said the partnership would strengthen its long-term resilience while continuing to provide the distinctive education and pastoral care for which the school is known.
The Carrdus School at Overthorpe, which was owned by Tudor Hall, closed last July. At the time the government’s decisions to add VAT to independent school fees, the increase in employers’ national insurance contributions and removing charitable business rates relief for private schools were blamed.
