A new outlet will open and the existing store is being retained

The Entertainer toy store is opening a second outlet in Banbury.   Their new offering will be based within Tesco Extra on the Banbury Cross Retail Park.

The retailer has confirmed to Banbury FM the existing store in the Castle Quay Shopping Centre will remain open, quashing social media rumours to the contrary.

The move follows the announcement of a new partnership between Tesco and The Entertainer in January.

The Entertainer in Tesco Extra will open tomorrow (May 8).   Another outlet will also open at Tesco Extra in Bicester in September.

Over 750 Tesco stores across the UK will become home to The Entertainer through the year with over 1,000 new jobs created.   The move follows a year-long trial in 35 of Tesco’s large UK stores, with a positive response from customers.

Rachel Willmott, regional area manager at The Entertainer, commented: “We’re delighted to announce that The Entertainer Toy Shop will be launching across two Cherwell-based Tesco stores, which will bring some of our magic directly to families and children right in the heart of the local community.”

Jan Marchant, Managing Director of Home and Clothing at Tesco, said: “We’re really excited to be bringing The Entertainer to Tesco stores across the UK, introducing even more customers to the great range of toys and making it easier for customers to pick up a gift for their little ones in store.”
