United’s lottery to donate £5,520 to Keep The Horton General

Ten pence from every £1 lottery entry goes to the Horton campaign group
A cheque for £5,520 will be presented to the Keep The Horton General campaign group by Banbury United after their game tomorrow afternoon.
It’s the latest donation from the club’s community lottery, which gives ten pence from every £1 entry to the campaign.
More than £20,000 has been raised since the lottery was founded.
The club is hoping that lots of fans will stay on after the game against King’s Lynn to be included in a picture of the cheque being handed over.
Keith Strangwood, Chairman of Keep the Horton General, said: “It is as important now as it has ever been to show the strength of local feeling towards returning consultant-led obstetrics to the Horton General Hospital. The generosity and support of Banbury United is so valued by our campaign group that we felt an ‘all inclusive’ photo for players, supporters – youngsters and oldies – would be such a powerful image.”
Ronnie Johnson, Chairman of Banbury United Football Club, said: “With our current position in the league and huge income losses following regular flooding of the pitch, we should remind ourselves of the many positives that come from being united as a Club.
“There is no finer example than the Banbury United Community Lottery and the campaigning work it funds. Let’s not also forget, it creates many individual winners. Just last Saturday, a prize fund of over £1,100 went to two lucky winners.”
The Keep The Horton General group campaigns on behalf of local people to keep all services operational at the Horton General Hospital.
