A 36-year-old woman from Banbury has been formally charged in relation to a dangerous dog incident in fields near Hanwell at the end of March.

Eliza Roberts, of De La Warr Drive, faces multiple charges after an investigation by Thames Valley Police’s Rural Crime Taskforce into an event that took place near St Peter’s Church at around 10.30am on Wednesday, March 26, when a small pet dog died after it was attached by other animals.

Roberts is accused of two counts each of possessing a fighting dog, allowing such a dog to be in a public place without a muzzle or lead, and being in charge of a dangerously out-of-control dog. She also faces one count of causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal.

Roberts has been released under investigation and is due to appear before Oxford Magistrates’ Court on June 5.
