Free bike service for key workers

Opportunity to get cycle safety checked by Dr Bike this weekend

Key workers who want to ensure their bike is in good working order can take advantage of a free repair session running this weekend.   The Dr Bike cycle service includes essentials like brake cables, pads, gear cables and inner tubes.

The event has been organised by Cherwell District Council with Cycling UK.   The emergency session will be held at Hardwick Community Hall on Saturday.

As well as the free parts, all the labour time will be donated free of charge.   Any items needed which are outside the service essentials can be sourced for the bike’s owner at a charge.

All the bike mechanics will be working to COVID Safe Guidance.   Cyclists will be given an appointment to drop off their bike and are asked to attend on their own to help protect the Dr Bike staff.   Anyone dropping off a bike should wear a face covering.

Booking for the session is essential.   Cherwell District Council says that key workers will be prioritised, but should any slots remain towards the weekend spaces might be made available to the general public.

You can book online here.
