Major investigation launched after Middleton Cheney blaze
The body of a man has been discovered following a fire in a shed in Middleton Cheney. The fire happened on Wednesday afternoon.
A major police investigation has been launched following the incident, which happened in Salmons Lane in the village.
Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a fire at around 3.35pm. Upon arrival they found a shed alight. After the flames had been extinguished the body of a man was discovered inside.
A 65-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of murder on Wednesday evening but then released with no further action last night.
Detectives and fire investigators are appealing for anyone with video footage of the shed fire to submit it, to help them establish the cause and progression of the fire.
