Members of Bicester Cycling Club stopped in the village to join the crowds and cheer on the professionals, ahead of making their way to Banbury for the finish.

Villager Richard came out with his wife to enjoy the atmosphere.   He said: “It’s a good advertisement for Deddington, getting Deddington on the map.   It’s a fabulous event and its great to see everyone out in the sunshine.”

Youngsters from Deddington Pre-School had spent the morning designing flags before heading down to cheer the cyclists pass by.

Rachel O’Connell from the Pre-School said: “[The children] have been really excited about it and they’ve made their flags to wave at the cyclists.   We’ve been talking about it all morning.”
