Painted faces, sculpted balloons and the town centre buzzing on Saturday

The response to the new Experience Banbury tourism website has been fantastic.   That’s the feelings of the team behind the website after Saturday’s launch at the Garden Party in Banbury town centre.

As part of the celebration youngsters were entertained by a face painter and balloon artist in the Market Place and queues formed to sample a specially created Ban-berry milkshake or ice cream at Sheila’s Shakes in Parson’s Street.

St Mary’s Church joined in offering complimentary coffee and cakes either inside the church or sat on deck chairs outside.

Yolanda Fletcher, Banbury BID Manager said: “We are delighted that the new website has been so well received and my thanks goes to everyone who helped to make it a success – the local businesses, our sponsors, the council team and the volunteers on the stand.”

Stuart Moore, Chairman of Banbury BID, said: “We see this as a big push on domestic tourism, which is a huge market and growing all the time.   We’d not only like to bring people from Banbury back into town, we would also like to attract people from outside of Banbury to visit.”

As part of the Experience Banbury website launch a number of prizes are available to win including  bowling with food for a family of four at Banbury Bowl, £40 voucher to spend at Sheila’s Shakes and a chance to brew and bottle your own beer with the experts at the Hook Norton Brewery.

Yolanda Fletcher added: “I am looking forward to announcing the lucky winners of the prize draw very soon.”
