Fire service say Sunday incident was being investigated as possible arson
A fire investigation began after what Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue suspected could have been arson following a blaze in hay bales and a number of field fires in the Drayton area.
Crews were called to reports of hay bales which were alight on Sunday. An engine from Banbury attended the scene. It took over seven hours to deal with the fire with crews from both the day and night shift involved.
During this time calls were received for what Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue describe as “multiple fires” in fields in the area. A crew from Hook Norton was sent to deal with these.
Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue said the hay bale fire was being investigated as possible arson.
