The Christmas Tractor Run is back for the sixth year and likely to feature a famous face

This year’s Tractor Run is set to return to the villages on the south side of Banbury this December and is expected to include a well-known face from one of the year’s big TV successes.

Kaleb Cooper, who has risen to fame appearing alongside Jeremy Clarkson on the Amazon Prime TV series Clarkson’s Farm, is planning to leave Diddly Squat Farm to be part of the convoy.   Kaleb has joined in during previous years.

The RC Baker Ltd organised Christmas Tractor Run will be hitting the streets for the sixth year on Saturday December 18.

The fairy lit convoy of tractors will once again be raising money for the Katharine House Hospice.

Departing from Spring Hill Farm in Barford St Michael at 5pm, the tractors will take to the roads travelling through South Newington, Milcombe, Bloxham, Milton, Adderbury, Aynho, Clifton, Deddington, Hempton before returning back through Barford St Michael.

The Tractor Run started as a small event in 2016 featuring twenty-six tractors.   Since then it has steadily grown with 100 tractors taking part in recent years.

Jennie Steenkamp, Commercial Manager and Director for RC Baker Ltd, said: “Last year’s event was very touch and go with the pandemic but we were really pleased to be able to go ahead and with the help of the amazing farming community, the local authorities and of course the huge support from local communities we reached an all-time high with money raised reaching a staggering £24,000 for Katharine House Hospice.

“The bar has certainly been set high for this year but we are up for the challenge!   British farmers are renowned for working hard throughout the year but this event not only raises an amazing amount of money for such a worthy cause but also provides the opportunity to get some much needed positive PR for the industry whilst having fun, spreading some festive cheer and showing off their machinery.  The huge amount of enjoyment that it has come to bring to the local community really is the icing on the cake.”

Anyone wishing to join in with their tractor can sign-up from December 1, but places are limited to 100 so the advice is to sign up quickly to avoid missing out.
