Lone female robbed at knifepoint in Banbury

The robbery happened at 7.30 on Friday evening

A lone female has been robbed in Banbury by a man who threatened her with a knife.  The theft happened at around 7.30pm last night (Friday).

The woman was walking from the railway station direction towards Lodge Close and walked through Morrison’s Car Park.   She passed a man dressed all in black.  He grabbed her bag and demanded money from her whilst pointing a knife towards her chest. 

The victim gave him the bag and then ran back towards the supermarket.  It’s believed the suspect left in the direction of Lodge Close.

The man is described as a white male in his 20’s to 30’s of about 5’ 9” tall.   He spoke in English but with a foreign accent of some kind.   He was wearing a black jacket with the hood up, black trousers, black gloves and a black snood covering his nose and mouth.

The stolen bag is a black Nike rucksack with a large pocket on the front containing clothing and personal items belonging to the victim.

Thames Valley Police is now appealing for any witnesses, or people with information, to come forward.   You can contact Banbury Priority Crime Team on 101, giving reference: 43220532111.
