A loss of electricity affected a number of systems in the school’s two buildings

St Mary’s Primary School in Banbury has been closed for most classes today as the school had no power.

The loss of electricity affected a number of systems including telephones, the fire alarm and internet in both of the school’s two buildings.   The outage meant the security access gates were not working.

Years 5 and 6 are in school today, but luckily for them on a pre-planned trip to Birmingham.

The school will be back open tomorrow with the power restored.
