48 students will be heading to the Videopolis theatre at the start of December

Talented youngsters from the Warriner School in Bloxham are set to share a stage with the likes of Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck at Disneyland Paris after the school choir was selected to be part of a Disney Christmas show.

48 students and 4 members of staff are now preparing for their trip to be part of the Disney Let’s Sing for Christmas extravaganza at the Videopolis theatre in the Disneyland Park, at the start of December.

The school choir runs on a no-audition everyone-welcome basis with students from year 7 through to year 13 all represented.

Head of Music, Lynda Webb described the audition process as “nerve wracking” with the choir having to video record several songs which the Disney professionals then assessed.   After this Lynda spoke to the decision makers on a video call where they emphasized the importance of learning the songs and memorising the words.

Lynda said: “They were extremely positive with their feedback of our youngsters and seem genuinely excited to have such a large group performing with them.”

The choir are now busy learning six Disney songs that they will be performing alongside the likes of Donald, Daisy, Mickey, Minnie and Goofy.   They will perform at the theatre four times over the weekend and will attend preparation workshops as part of their training for their starring moment.

Lynda added: “The students are really excited to be taking part and I’m so very proud of all the efforts they are making to be ready; it’s going to be a fantastic weekend with a once in a lifetime opportunity to enter the world of professional performing.”
